Conventional wisdom would have execumamas believe that they have to strike a perfect balance between work and life. There will always be variables beyond our control, but the trick is to cope with the chaos while taking comfort in the things that are still within our control. I encourages the Execumama in each of you to embrace the road we've chosen and to walk it with confidence.

The Execumama Pocketguide is a God-send! I call this book "my mentor in my bag". Whenever I need some uplifting, reassurance, sound advice, or just have downtime (doctor's appts, waiting in line, etc.) I just pull it out of my purse and start reading. ALL WOMEN need to read this book! It will either prepare you or help you to be the best you (so you can be the best you to everyone in your life - hubby, boyfriend, kids, and the list goes on). Highly recommended! Oh...and the author was featured in Essence Magazine. Truly inspirational. She helped me so much...I now follow her blogs (do a internet search of execumama). This pocket guide is excellent. I bought it for my niece who is an attorney and is always on the move. She is pregnant with her first child and I wanted her to have the necessary information to make this successful process in her life. She says that she loves the book and is reading it daily. This pocket guide is long overdue. The author describes in detail, the everyday running of being a dedicated mother and a focused executive simultaneously. She wrote about her own and the experience of other professionals (lawyers, etc.) and I could relate to it every step of the way. Mind you, it is not an easy task doing one or the other. Young mothers in particular, should really read this book before and after becoming a mother as this book offers some really great instructions.

Career Mothers everywhere owe it to themselves to pick up a copy of this book. Execumama is an easy read and a great reference to keep handy when you're feeling overwhelmed. The author lets you know that you're NOT sacrificing your children by purusing your career; that children are not necessarily better off with a stay-at-home Mom as society would like us to believe.

"I laughed, I related, and I found myself feeling as though you were reading to me. I found myself reading, but listening at the same time. I started off not knowing what to expect, trying to get a feel for what I thought the book was going to be about, and later found that it was more like a personal journal, not a "tell-all" or "how-to" book. In my opinion, it is a real-life "how I'm livin', can you relate, and can you feel me" type of book. And yes, I felt you (and the other ladies, as well). While reading, I felt as though I was talking and listening to one of my girls...like we were discussing our feelings and everyday issues.
