I earned my Execumama status in 2003 when, five months into my pregnancy,
I started being honest with myself about what I was doing (pursuing a career in law),
and why I was doing it (because people I cared about said I’d be good at it, and the money sounded awesome).

The real deal was that it scared me to consider pursuing my real love: writing.
